The 20-year-old talented central defender of Spartak Trnava, Sebastián KÓŠA, has signed a contract with the famous Spanish club Real Zaragoza, which aims to return to La Liga this season, and Sebastián is expected to help achieve this goal.
How were you welcomed at the club? Did you have the chance to meet the head coach?
Despite being a foreigner and not fully understanding the language, I was received very well. I feel comfortable here; my teammates are accommodating, the coaches are supportive, and the fans are amazing.
What are your personal expectations from this transfer?
I expect new challenges, a new environment, a new language, and, of course, a high-quality football environment where I believe I can progress and improve.
What kind of facilities and football infrastructure does a Second Division football club in Spain have?
The facilities are excellent; this is a club with ambitions to get promoted to the first division. The club is very well organized. Everything was taken care of right after my arrival without any problems; everyone is very willing to help and resolve any issues.
Have you already studied the situation in La Liga 2? What are the opponents like, and what is the quality of the league?
The quality of the league is high. From the matches I’ve seen so far, the technical quality of the players is impressive, and they don’t lose the ball easily. Of course, Spanish teams, in general, are very strong when it comes to ball possession.
And what about Spanish? Do you know any, or will you be learning intensively?
I have some basics; I studied Spanish in high school. But there’s a big difference between learning it in Slovakia and speaking and functioning here in the natural environment. But I’m learning. I have lessons and brought a textbook from school. I’m working intensively to learn as quickly as possible.
The initial medical examination went great. How do you feel? Are you physically and mentally ready for this change? It’s the first time you’re changing clubs and trying abroad.
I feel great. It’s definitely due to the excitement of a big change; it’s the first time in my football career that I’m moving abroad. I think I’m ready. The adaptation process will take a while, but I believe I’m well-prepared and will handle this change and settle in as soon as possible. It will be a great experience.
What’s next for the club?
Next, we have a home game on Sunday against Elche FC. (Note: Currently, Elche is in 14th place in the standings.)
Will you be following how Spartak is doing? How do you think they will continue in the competitions?
I’ll definitely be following them and continue to support Spartak and hope the team and the club do as well as possible.
Thank you for the interview, and we wish you lots of success!
