Greek football powerhouse Olympiacos FC has had an exceptionally successful season. After clinching the Greek Super League title, they confirmed their dominance by also winning the Greek Cup. From the perspective of our football agency, this achievement is even more special, as the team includes our client – New Zealand international with Serbian roots, Marko Stamenić.
Olympiacos FC experienced a dream season. The club from Piraeus reinforced its status as the most successful football team in Greece by winning both the Greek Super League and the Greek Cup, completing the prestigious double for the first time since the 2014/2015 season.
In Saturday’s Greek Cup final, Olympiacos defeated Aris FC 1–0, with the winning goal scored by Ayoub El Kaabi in the second half. The Moroccan striker was one of the standout performers of the season, netting 18 goals in the league and adding 4 more in cup matches.
From our agency’s perspective, Olympiacos’ success is even more rewarding because Marko Stamenić played an important part. The 22-year-old midfielder joined Olympiacos on loan from Nottingham Forest last year and has since earned a stable position in the squad.
This season, Marko made 24 appearances, starting in 15 matches, contributing 1 goal and 2 assists. Head coach José Luis Mendilibar has praised his tactical discipline and physical readiness.
Marko averaged 9.4 km per match, placing him among the most hard-working players in the team.
